Sudbury Foundation Names Sonia Shah Executive Director

Please join us in welcoming Sonia Shah to the Foundation as our next Executive Director. Sonia will assume the post in January. Most recently she served as the Director of Development and Outreach at the Natick Service Council, where she was responsible for spearheading all development efforts, including marketing and public relations, fundraising events and campaigns, and community outreach.

Sonia succeeds retiring Executive Director Marilyn Martino, who has been with the Foundation for 28 years, the last 15 as Executive Director.

“The Sudbury Foundation has been incredibly fortunate to have Marilyn’s leadership over the past 28 years,” said Board Chair Jill Stansky. “Thanks to her dedication and guidance, the Foundation is well poised for the future. We look forward to welcoming Sonia in the new year.”

“I am delighted to be joining the Sudbury Foundation,” said Sonia. “The Foundation plays such an important role in the MetroWest region, as both a collaborator and innovator. I’m excited to build upon Marilyn’s work and further the Foundation’s mission.”

Sonia holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan and a Juris Doctorate from Northeastern University School of Law. She previously worked as the Manager of Foundation and Public Service Programs at the Boston Bar Association/Foundation, Director of Development at MetroWest Legal Services and Senior Program Officer at The Health Foundation of Central Massachusetts.
