Remembering Rich Davison
We wanted to share the sad news that our former Trustee Rich Davison passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8th, 2024.
For those who didn’t know Rich, he retired from the Sudbury Foundation in December 2015 following 30 years as a remarkable Trustee. In honor of Rich’s retirement from the board, the Foundation made a video outlining his many accomplishments (video below).
Rich took on key leadership roles in a variety of major Foundation projects in Sudbury, including construction of the Atkinson Pool, renovation of the historic wing of the Goodnow Library and the historic renovation and expansion of the Grange Hall in Sudbury Town Center. He was involved in open space preservation as well, championing projects to preserve the Nobscot, Piper and Pantry Brook Farm properties. He was also instrumental in directing the Foundation’s former environmental grants program which focused on preserving communities in the Northern Forest and fisheries in the Gulf of Maine. Rich also held a special affinity for the Foundation's Atkinson Scholarship Program. He leaves behind a great legacy of influence over many projects and organizations in Sudbury and beyond.
